HATTIESBURG, MS. - The founders of the Institute of Medical Emergency Preparedness (IMEP) and the Emergency Response System (ERS) have reached another milestone with their landmark publication on medical emergency preparedness. The article titled "The Six Links of Survival" was published in the June 2006 DentalTown Journal. The Six Links are Doctor Training, Staff Training, Medical Emergency Plan, Mock Drills, Emergency Drug Kit, and Proper Equipment. Any office missing one of these links decreases the survivability of a patient should a medical emergency occur. The article thoroughly explores each link and describes what an office needs to do in order to be properly prepared for a medical emergency.
